Your Library PIN

What is a library PIN?

Your library PIN is a unique password you create the first time you log into your library record or request a book through the CONSULS library catalog. It is important to note that your PIN is not the same as your BlueNet ID password. The PIN can be any combination of letters or numbers up to 30 characters, but must not contain any patterns (E.G. aaaa, abcabc, abcdabcd).

What will a library PIN allow me to do?

  • View digital course reserves your professor has posted for your class.

  • Use articles databases and e-journal collections at home.

  • Display your library record to show what things you have checked out and/or renew things you have checked out. You can also edit your account preferences to have notices delivered via email.

  • Request books via the CONSULS library catalog from other CSU campuses (ECSU, SCSU, WCSU).

How do I create a library PIN?

You can set a PIN by going to the following URL: http://www.consuls.org/patroninfo. Type your BlueChip card number in the first box. Leave the 2nd box blank and click 'Display Record'. Another screen will appear prompting you to set a PIN.

What if I forgot my PIN?

You can reset your PIN in CONSULS by going to http://www.consuls.org/patroninfo. From there, please click on Forgot your Pin?. Please note: You must have your university ID number available to reset your PIN. PIN numbers can be up to 30 characters, either numbers or letters, but cannot contain patterns, (e.g. aaaa, abcabc, abcdabcd).
